It is a tool within a discipline, not a discipline unto itself, such as schoolteaching. There is no specific answer to it. It generally depends on many factors: the company, the skill-sets you've acquired during your PGDM program, interview performance, of which college you are a student and the job profile. The package can be anything from Rs 3 LPA to Rs 30 LPA or even more.

Getting the mentioned course depends on your All India Rank.
But anyway, you'll be able to shift to other courses after first year by sliding if you maintain a GPA of more than 9.
