If you want to get into Post Graduate Diploma Courses in XIC you have to sit for the institute's Written Entrance Test and Interview, which takes place in the month of June, before admission is finalized.
The Entrance test of Mass communication mainly checks your language and communication skills and general knowledge. There are various Institutes which give you coaching on the subject but, more then that I would suggest that for this kind of an exam you should Keep yourself aware of global affairs, regularly read newspapers & listen to news, also to work on your communication and language skills read novels & practice writing on various current affair topics.

This year the entrance for Xaviers institute of communication was conducted in May and as per my knowledge it will be conducted in the same month next year. You need to fill the online registration form and while doing so you need to choose your centre for examination. Now for your preparation i would suggest you to start reading newspapers and good books on General Awareness such as Manorama Year book etc. also try and memorize the Punch lines and brand Ambassadors of various Advertisements. Rest I would say the paper is easy and you can clear it and get selected for the interview.
