This year the entrance for Xaviers institute of communication was conducted in May and as per my knowledge it will be conducted in the same month next year. You need to fill the online registration form and while doing so you need to choose your centre for examination. Now for your preparation i would suggest you to start reading newspapers and good books on General Awareness such as Manorama Year book etc. also try and memorize the Punch lines and brand Ambassadors of various Advertisements. Rest I would say the paper is easy and you can clear it and get selected for the interview.

Some universities have strict rules against dual enrollment, ie. one is not permitted to enroll for another degree program with them or another university while pursuing one of their degrees. So check with the university you plan to join full-time whether or not they have any rules against dual enrollment. Or you can apply for a NOC from the current deptt. One thing more is that the examination schedules can clash with each other which gonna make you badly sick.To sum up I'd just say that tell you friend to check out the norms at the current institute, and ask them about NOC (No Objection Certificate) that whether they provide or not.
