Below mentioned are the options to become helicopter pilot in India:
1. Commercial helicopter pilot: You can become commercial helicopter pilot by joining helicopter pilot training schools. First, you have to learn flying and earn commercial helicopter pilot license.
Below mentioned are the basic eligibility criteria to become commercial helicopter pilot:
I. You should have completed class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics as your major subjects.
II. You must have scored 50% marks in above mentioned education.
The course duration is approximately 18 months for Commercial Helicopter Pilot's Licence (CHPL) and 6 months for Private Helicopter Pilot's Licence (PHPL). The duration may vary depending on various factors.
2. Helicopter flying pilot in Indian Air Force: You can join Indian Air Force Flying branch by appearing for NDA after class 12th boards or CDS after science graduation degree. You may opt for helicopter pilot branch, once you are selected by IAF.
