Hello Sumit,
There are various colleges in India in which you can apply through lateral entry scheme. The lateral entry scheme is only for the Diploma holders and they will get direct admission in the second year.
There are some of the universities which conducts entrance examination for the lateral entry candidates and some of the universities allot colleges through counseling which can be done as per their marks in Diploma. There is no difficulty as whatever is taught in the first year of engineering is already covered up in the Polytechnic course.
