If you are creative, do opt for Career in Animation and Digital Media. Its a Skill oriented Vocational Career in which after mastering the skills, you may do a job, freelance your services or even become self employed.
Career Spectrum includes working for Animation Studios working on Animation films or Animation Services, Production Houses involved in visual effects & editing, Gaming Co's for Mobile, Console and Online applications, Ad Agencies creating Advertisements, Web & Internet Companies developing Websites, E-Learning Co's developing educational contents, Architectural Co's using 3d Walk Through, Graphic Design Co's involved in Print-Publishing, Imaging, Packaging, Layout design etc. among other avenues.
Animation calls for a wide bouquet of skills from traditional art skills to articulation skills, storytelling to aesthetic appreciation, and creativity to technical prowess. Animation and Digital Media Careers are practical oriented and will need strong mentoring. You may enhance your knowledge but have to learn the skills thoroughly by learning at any leading institution of your choice.
Digital Media and Animation related programs are offered by lot of Government Colleges and Autonomous Institutes & Universities. Shaik, I am not sure which course you are looking at. Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design and Animation. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. Eligibility Criteria
Participants are admitted to the programme based on a combination of requirements:
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India
Candidates who have Bachelors from any foreign countries are also eligible. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling
(10+2) or equivalent. Diploma holders cannot apply to this programme unless they also possess a Bachelor's degree.
