If your judgement is purely based on placements and packages, then I can assure with no doubt that NIT-Trichy is not just the best among all NITs but also better than a few IITs. However, if you also take into account student facilities, mess food, internet access and faculty profiles, then I myself doubt it.
2. Students have a greater role to play here than any other college.
It's true, students of NIT Trichy are not just mere college-going children, but they are involved in extra and co-curricular works, projects and clubs of far greater significance. W

IIST has a total of 250 seats every year along with reservation. Also, IIST takes admission on the basis of Advanced and not on the basis of Mains. You need at least under 2k rank for IIST. Rest, it depends upon the cutoff of the entrance which changes every year, which is the marks of 250th student applying for it. Best of luck.

I am assuming it to be your JEE rank. Check the link below to know the colleges you can get with this rank:

In case you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if your try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech in various branches. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basi

Hi Muthu,
One thing to remember is that for interviews in UG courses one must be well updated with the current affairs. Read up on the ongoing issues and the issues that have been of national importance in the past one year, read up on the Karnataka elections, US's Nuclear agreement and it's complications, the Paris Agreement, read up on UDHR. Finally, the most important thing out of all is that you must be calm, poised, VERY CONFIDENT and must know why do you choose this college over the others. Confidence is the key to anything, even if you don't know the answer to a question. All the best.
