For IIM IPM preparation I would suggest you to join some good coaching institute as well along with self preparation.
However there are various good books available for the practice, they are:
Quant Aptitude by Tata Magraw Hill.
Competitive Examinations Tips, Techniques, and Short-cut Methods by Guha Abhijit.
R.S. Agarawal books on verbal reasoning or Business English and Communication by Clark or Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary by Wilfred Funk and Norman Lewis.

I would recommend an MBA program to you if you have 2-3 years of experience. Else, go for Masters (MS or MSc) programs in management. You need to take IELTS/TOEFL tests and some universities ask for GMAT scores. This apart you need to arrange for 2 letter of recommendations from your college, a 500 word statement of purpose, passport copy. Let me know in case you require further assistance on any of the above.

Distance Engineering Courses at present are not recognised by any body, even DEC. Many people prefer AMIE, AMIETE, AMIME, AMAeSI etc. as they are professional memberships offered by competent bodies and are considered equivalent to B Tech/BE in industry. Lets hope for revised norms to take its due course. But since you have expressed your interest in distance engineering. you may visit www.sskcollege.com for options.
