Yes, you can appear for the UGC NET, if you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the exam. You should have completed post-graduation with minimum 55% aggregate marks (for General) or 50% aggregate marks (for OBC/SC/ST/PwD) from the UGC Approved University. If you want to apply for the JRF NET exam than your age must not exceed 30 years (for General) or 35 years (for OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Women). For Assistant Professor there is no age criteria, you can apply whenever you want. If you fulfill all that requirements then you are eligible for the NET exam.

The candidates those want to make career in the lectureship and Research programme must prepare and appear for the National Eligibility test. The UGC NET Exam is conducted in the month of June and December month usually.
