Both subjects are equally good and have their own pros and cons. One should always opt for the subject in which they hold their interest. On the successful completion of the B.Tech (Computer Science), one can look at the following profiles:
1. Software Engineer / Programmer
2. Developer (.NET / Java / C+ etc.)
3. Network Administrator
4. Database Administrator
5. Tester
6. Business Analyst
Environmental Engineering can be in multiple fields like Solid waste management, water supply and waste-water treatment, and air pollution and control. Also, a specific industrial profile can be developed in Environmental Impact Assessment and Protection. Wish you luck.

In case you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre college. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if you try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech in various branches. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12 marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12 or JEE or even during the course. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have a wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements.
