The basic difference between a PGDM programme and MBA is that the PGDM is offered by a private college while MBA can only be offered by a university. The choice should be based on the placement statistics provided by the college. If you go for jobs, then most of the descriptions state "MBA or Equivalent", here, PGDM is considered as equivalent to MBA (please check whether the college has accreditation and recognitions such as AIU. AIU recognised institutions provide MBA equivalent PGDM programs). The choice is yours, you can either go for PGDM or MBA, but please consider the placement records of the college before selecting one. I hope you will find this information useful. In case you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre college. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if your try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech ME. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12 marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12 or JEE or even during the course. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements.
