5 years of gap is a huge concern. Your grades are good and it seems you have improved overall however admissions will be challenging and will depend on the teacher recommendation letters, statement of purpose, the university's acceptance rate, etc. I will advice you to email the universities before applying.

Biological engineering or bio-engineering (including biological systems engineering) is the application of concepts and methods of biology (and secondarily of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science) to solve real-world problems related to life sciences . biological engineering uses primarily the rapidly developing body of knowledge known as molecular biology to study and advance applications of organisms and to create biotechnology.
Since it uses the use of biology in a most advanced way it is necessary to have studied biology in your HSC . otherwise you cannot cope up with it.
