The most important thing which you should keep in mind while choosing a course or a stream is your own interests and career aspirations. There are several options for students from arts background. She can go for MA, MSW (Masters in Social Work), Masters in Literature which can lead to the profession of journalism. Can opt for teaching as a career by doing Masters in the area of her interest and then appearing for NET examination or opt for B.Ed.

There is no aggregate restriction to appear in IAS till now.
Just you nee a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.
Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear.

Different Government Schools will have different recruitment requirements, so you have to check with the School what their eligibility is for PGTs. As you are from commerce background and your B.Ed is in English & Mathematics, you can apply as Mathematics, Statistics & Accounting teacher. You can also opt for English which is one of the main subjects in your B.Ed.
