If you are a newcomer, you will have one year of classroom training as a JET (9 months classroom + 3 months plant training), where you will not be paid but will receive a stipend. The SET entrance test requires a minimum of three months of preparation. If you can devote eight hours a day to studying, you can pass the SET, depending on the syllabus and level of difficulty.
