Government colleges are the only economical colleges in India. You can get admission into those colleges only through GATE examination. There are state level entrance examinations as well, but those are for private colleges which are not economical.

IIM A provides PGP & FABM program only. Referring to placements, you can secure a consulting role in PGP program, but consulting role are not that plausible in FABM program. In short, you are coming from food technology and joining PGP then the answer is yes or else FABM no.

The difficulty level of the exam had increased a little this time and as a result, the experts predict that the CAT cut off 2016 may reduce. As per expert analysis, a score of 150 to 166 will be equivalent to secure 99 percentile or above. In terms of sectional CAT 2016 cut off, candidates have to score 70, 57 and 60 in Verbal Ability, DI & LR and Quantitative Ability sections respectively.
