The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States.
the exam aims to measure verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not entirely based on any specific field of study outside of the GRE itself.
Aspirants who are interested in pursuing a master's degree, specialised master's course, MBA or doctoral degree can sit for the GRE Test.
In India, GRE 2016 is offered only in the computer based format administered at Prometric testing centers.
Since, GRE is a postgraduate test, generally, students who have cleared their undergraduation opt for the examination for entry into Masters or PhD courses abroad, especially, USA.

If you want to join an IIM after graduation you have to attend CAT exam which will take place this December 2016.
The registration for CAT has already started from today Aug 8, 2016 on IIMCAT website.
So, prepare well for CAT by joining a crash course of weekend batch for CAT from nearby CAT coaching institute or you can refer CAT related books from Arihant Publications, Arun Sharma, R.S. Agarwal, etc., they will help you.
I highly recommend you to better finish the degree and take time to study for next year CAT if you are very much fond of getting a call from IIMs, because it will be difficult for you to concentrate on both degree and CAT.
You can have a try this year in CAT and get an understanding of it.

ASI is the main recruiter of archaeologists in our country both at the center and the state levels. Qualified students can apply for appropriate positions in the ASI by clearing examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or by the State Public Service Commissions (SPSC).
Students who have earned a post graduate degree in archaeology can apply for lectureship in various universities across the country. In this regard, they have to appear for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or the Junior Research Fellow (JRF)-Lectureship examination conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Candidates who succeed to qualify the JRF examination have the option to pursue a doctorate degree in the capacity of a paid research fellowship. For taking up a lectureship position within a particular state, candidates need to clear the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) of that state.
Archaeologists also have the option to take up a job in government or privately owned museums for the safe upkeep and management of museum artefacts.
