Hi John,
SOP(statement of purpose) is essential element of your application process.
Below are few guidelines you must keep in mind while writing your SOP:
1. Why you want to study the particular course.
2. Why you want to study the course in this university only.
3. How a degree from this university will help you in achieving your goal.
It is always advisable to frame your own SOP rather than copying, because if the university comes to know that you have copied from somewhere, then there is a possibility that your application might be rejected.
I hope this answers your query.

Hi Bhushan, ALong with your regular studies you start preparing for GATE of you want to go for GATE, which i feel is the best option. You could be thinking on the lines of Management Degree from IIMS which you can very well do. I've placed M.Tech ahead of MBA, for GATE or any other university exam tests your subject skills while MBA your aptitude and attitude .and that can be pursued even after completing M.Tech and even while working.
Hope that i'm able to resolve your confusion to some extent.
All the very best,'
