No, they can't take your 12th or 10th mark-sheet they just say you to take all these original documents so that they can verify that the certificate and marks mentioned by you at the time of applying is correct or not.

The eligibility depends on the type of course that you wish to pursue, the details of some courses is stated below:
Diploma Class 10th pass from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelors Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelors degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.

There are following major options available for you after becoming an engineer:
(a) Job: BE is sufficient qualification to start your career. Your first option to get job is job in campus placement. It is challenging to get job if you do not get job in campus placement.
