You can opt for either of the two as both offers distance course, but I would suggest you to opt for a regular program as through a regular mode of study you can expect better quality of education and better value and industry recognition.
But if you are looking for either of the mentioned options then you may opt for the SMU as the University is UGC / DEC approved where as the IMSR is a ISO certified institute offering DEC recognized PG Diploma.

First of all i would want you to know that there is NO AGE BAR to pursue your MBA. People have even pursued their MBA at the age of 60 so age is no problem in your case. It is a very good thing that you have taken up the CFA program if you are interested in pursuing your MBA in Finance as you have a valid reason for shifting your career from economics to finance :)
i would recommend you to start preparing for your GMAT side by side while preparing for the CFA exams as you would need atleast a 720+ score if you are planning to target an IVY League MBA. Since you are solely interested in Finance, I would recommend applying to only 3 sc
