Yes, Mechatronics can be pursued by a Mechanical student, however the options to pursue the specialization in India has fewer options only like Periyar University, Anna University, Sree Krishna College of Engineering & Technology, Sardar Patel University.

The career path you choose would largely depend on your own interests and career aspirations, so if you want to get into a research or teaching field you can go for M.Sc, and if your passion lies in Management field you can go for MBA.

12th is the basic education and is regarded as most important qualification so to carry out any further education. There are many institutes in India which are offering bachelors in Animation but to release your career aim, it is important that you first clear your 12th and this you can do by applying through the private board or NIOS.

You haven't mentioned your interest so it will be difficult for me to give you proper guidance as to give you a career advice, I need to know your interest as well.
But keeping in mind your graduation in commerce, I would suggest you to go for an MBA or any other course or as you mentioned that you were working with an NGO, you can go for a PR course as it is same "Getting Business for the Organisation". you are on right trck to become the best person for india. however, becoming an IAS officer is not simple as you are thinking about it. if you are talented, quick learner and clever person then you can cross the prelliam, main exam and interview in first attempt. however most of the times people try and try and try but sometimes they fail. coz it is the matter of passion and sustainable development. if you are doing graduation then it will take mini um one year after graduation. or if you have completed you graduation then it probably it will take 2 more years with constant study.
