In my perspective, one of the key things that matter to take up any course/certification/higher education should be your personal interest and skill sets in the filed that you are intending to pursue. Research a lot before take up higher studies and to understand exactly what you are looking for and why. And all the research at the end of the day should revolve around your key objectives, end goals, your criteria and priorities and the time you are willing to give, limitations involved if any. Talk to people, those who you know and if its only a professional discussion through LinkedIn should be fine with new people too. But communicate and conduct some sort of unofficial interview or a good informative conversation. Now, as far as the requirement from the other end is considered, meaning the college and course requirement, of course x number of years of study before you take up MBA, under graduation or equivalent qualification, threshold for marks obtained and specialisation in under graduation and any other cut offs and processes to shortlist can vary from college to college. Lot of people give importance to interviewing candidates before enrollment. It is a good step to know the expectations and abilities from both the parties and to see if it all lies on the same page of understanding. The kind of course that MBA is, in a very generic sense, a person who confidently communicates his/her mind, possess interpersonal skills, openness and adaptability coupled with a positive attitude can make a mountain of a difference. And it surely helps to hone leadership skill sets. And all of these qualities, make sure to prove when asked to justify. Meaning, have instances and experiences from your past ready where you have indeed showcased your personality and confident self. If you can quote even 1 proper example of how you stood in a crowd from the rest, it goes a long way in making a strong impact. Wish you all the best.
