Hi Vandita, it depends on which course you are going for. UK Universities do not require SAT. If you want to go for any course except medicine then no entrance exam is required except for a English language exam either a IELTS or TOEFL. IELTS of 6.0 is expected for most of the courses.
Courses commence in September and one can not apply directly to the Universities(most of them). You need to apply through UCAS and the last date is 30 June.
