There are many universities like Lovely, Amity, Manavrachna etc that offer admission to diploma holders directly on the basis of their marks in diploma or some entrance test. Not only this they also offer scholarships to students on the basis of their marks in previous qualifying marks.
These universities have a good record for placements and overall development of students.

Yes,you can take admission in diploma mech.engg.and after that you can do B.Tech by taking admission in 2nd year of the degree.
If you want you can join diploma-B.Tech integrated degree being offered by Lovely Professional University, Amity, Chitkara etc thus saving you of the trouble and tension of admission further.
