Practicing after Class:
Make studying math a priority. Set aside time to work on math at the same time and in the same place everyday. Create good study habits. Read purposefully. Master one concept before moving on to the next. Do problems neatly and completely. Have a plan to tackle each problem.

Usually civil engineering students go for a masters degree or a Ph.D. program. Many of them get admits into various abroad universities. This is the trend I have mostly observed among my seniors. As per my knowledge very few core civil companies visit our college NITK, Surathkal. Some of them include L&T, BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) and the pay offered by BPCL is really good considering the fact that it is a PSU and hence includes more benefits. Change of branch on completion of first year is permitted in majoroty of Engineering colleges. Each college and university has its own rules and regulations for change of branch in second year. You may check with college administration or your seniors about branch change process.

You have to decide about your future. You can take a break from the job and go for graduation in fire &safety. You can continue in the same job. But, what's your passion? I would advise you to follow your passion.

B.Tech first year students are not eligible for appearing in LEET. Eligibility criteria for appearing in LEET is Diploma in Engineering from a recognized polytechnic or B.Sc PCM from a recognized university.
