The UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are held to determine the eligibility for assistant professor posts in university & colleges. The major difference between UGC NET and CSIR NET is that CSIR NET exam is held for Science stream candidates while UGC NET exam is held for other stream candidates. The minimum eligibility to apply for the UGC NET Exam is that you must have post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks from recognized university. The candidates are allowed to apply for their post-graduation subjects only.
Paper 1 is common for all the subjects which consists 50 questions related to mental ability, reasoning and teaching aptitude etc. The Paper 2 consists subject related 100 questions. The paper 1 is held for 1 hour while paper 2 is held for 2 hours having each question of 2 marks. All the questions will be multiple choice questions.
