Dear Nooh,
The basic eligibility for admission in a bachelor’s degree is successfully completing higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as physics, maths and chemistry. Admissions are usually done through entrance examinations. However, it is always advisable to get in touch with the institute to get the exact details about the admission procedure as admission process and eligibility vary from institute to institute. For seeking admissions in IITs, it is mandatory to clear JEE Advance.

CAT and GMAT both contain Quant and verbal sections; cat has logical reasoning and data interpretation as an extra section. Although GMAT has data interpretation in form of Integrated reasoning (IR) section, score of this section is not counted in the total score but provided separately. Quant of Gmat is easier than Cat. Verbal of GMAT and cat too differs. So books for both differs.

Dear Sujith,
12th marks are not enough for taking admission in NIT. Admission to undergraduate programs are based on JEE exam. So if you are qualified in JEE exam and secured good marks then there are some chances for NIT. Well on other side, you can also try for well-known private engineering colleges. There are many recognized private engineering colleges available in India which are providing excellent engineering education along with best placement records.
Hope this information helps. Please feel free to revert.
Wish you luck.
