Hey Anurag,
First of all congrats for being an average 'Engineering/Science' student, in this tough world being average is also a big thing and secondly being average in science doesn't mean you are an average student. Though I personally believe that anyone can excel in any subject by either intelligence or hardwork but if you are not able to focus or feel that passionate about the subject, I feel its better you change it.
You compromised once by taking PCM then you had to carry it for another 2 years, then you compromised it by taking Engineering and again you have to carry it to another 4 years and maybe throughout life by taking a job in the same field.
If you plan to change any how then remember one thing life only seldom give the second chance that you are going to take but never the third. Chose a stream/ college you like and excel there. Its a man-eats-man world, you will be behind your colleagues who will complete their graduation before you do, will get a job when you will be student, some may even marry a girl whom you used to like once ;) but then you have to be mentally strong and keep yourself going till you out-beat them with your self confidence, hard work and dedication.
I would conclude that both shifting for a new stream or sticking with Engineering has its pros and cons, just evaluate the risk and your strength to conquer them.
At last never ever leave anything for you are not able to do it fully well, if you have to leave then leave because you can perform other one better.
