Hi,
I don't have much idea, but the Hindu is preferred for GK and as the exam is class 10th based, so you have to read the NCERTS.
2nd thing it also depends upon which CDS you are giving i.e CDSE or CDS quota.

You did not tell about the state from which you wish to pursue the B.Tech course. So, first let me clear here that never do the BE/B.Tech from Distance/Correspondence/Open mode, because these degree are not valid as per AICTE guidelines. Hence, it is better to do B.Tech lateral course from state you belongs. The admission in B.Tech lateral are based on lateral entrance exam or merit (Marks obtained in 12th). Fee of all government engineering colleges is very reasonable, hence accordingly prepare self for getting admission in government Engineering College.
