This completely depends on you.
Ideally, it is better you start off early. If you can manage your T.Y studies with CAT preparation, you can join for coaching in the month of Apr-May. However, if you are seriously thinking of cracking CAT in 2012, then I would suggest you start as early as possible.

It is not the right time to be thinking about all this. As of now, you should focus on class 10th and score exceptionally well in the boards. Once you have given your boards, you can start preparing for the SAT and TOEFL in class 11th . These are the 2 tests that you would have to take to apply for admission in US.
