Hi,
It depends on the course and also the colleges where the IT companies come for placements. For an arts student to get a good job in IT firms, he needs to choose BCA and B.Sc in computer science. These courses will be essential for an arts student to get a job in a computing company and then you may also do MCA or M.Sc in computer science for improving your standard and the salary package.

The decision would be based on your interest areas and long term career plans. If you want to pursue a career in academics/research/pure Science areas then B.Sc would be a better option. However, if you want to move into the technical/operations/general management side then B.Tech would be better. A B.Sc is a 3-year programme, whereas a B.Tech is a 4 year programme. A B.Tech programme is specialised course & does carry more weightage compared to B.Sc.

You are thinking on the right track. Operations and supply chain are the future of the market. Every company requires operations whether it's an IT sector or manufacturing. Very few colleges offer this course.

No, you'll not be able to get a seat in SASTRA University for your rank. Try in some other colleges. It's not the end of the world.

Hi,
How are you?
You may prefer Shiksha college predictor.
In our country, people truly believe on IITs and NITs for B.Tech and placement.
But, due to downfall, these are also losing its position.
Apart from these, some private college are BITS, SRM, NIRMA, VIT, SKIT Jaipur, UPES Dehradun and LPU are getting higher value.
Well, there, you may get good environment.
A peaceful decorum and high placement records
Thanks for asking. All the best
