You can start preparing from 3rd year. Either you can prepare by self study or by opting for coaching classes. There are plenty of options available like Career Launcher, TIME, IMS,etc,. Materials provided by them are almost similar, in the end, it all depends on you. What are your strengths and weaknesses and based on that how you make a plan to tackle the exam.
To get into good B-school, you need to score very high percentile.

Eligibility for this year was - Candidates applying for admission to the Two Year Full-Time MBA must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline after 12 years of formal schooling with at least 50% marks (SC/ST:- Passing marks; OBC/PwD/CW- 45%) or equivalent to CGPA, as per CAT 2014 advertisement requirement. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Bachelor's Degree examination may also apply. Admission to MBA (Two-year Full Time)at FMS will be based on personal interview, group discussion/extempore and CAT-2014 score .FMS considers CAT score for shortlisting for further rounds. Before opting for a course you must first decide in which field you wish to build your career and accordingly you can select the best course.
How ever if you are interested in pursuing MBA, it would be advisable for you to work for 2-3 years after completing your graduation and then opt for MBA.

Germany is very much known for its technological advancements, especially Automobile and mechanical.
Most of the universities have English as the medium of teaching.
For admission you might have to give GRE and IELTS / TOEFL.
Also education in Germany is government funded, there is a possibility that you might have to pay a minimal fee ranging from euro 140-500.
For more information on German Universities, I would request you to visit the nearest DAAD office. DAAD is officially authorized to provide information about education in Germany. They have offices in major cities in India.
If possible go for a German language course as it will help you find a part time job. A student in Germany can work 90 full days or 180 half days.
