Well first preference should ofcourse be job as this will help you gain an insight into your interests. This will help you evaluate whether you are really interested in technical field or you can work better in management roles. To know about the existing vacancies, login to naukri.com
But if you are not getting a job, it is better to go for MTech. But in this case, I would recommend you to work hard, get into a good college like IITs/ NITs/ BITS etc. These institutes will gurantee you good campus placements after completion of course.
All the best.

Hi Satish,
First of all there are very few Institutes which are providing MBA in Project Management even through Correspondence. Secondly, it is always advisable to go for a full time MBA as it has a much better job market than the correspondence programme.
However, if you still want to go for correspondence programme then would suggest you to choose some popular specialization like Finance or Operations which are the two good options for Engineers.
Few of the Universities providing correspondence programmes in Project Management are:
Alagappa University
H.P. University
National Institute of Business Management
NICMAR Study Centre
University

Hi G.Balaji,
Assuming that you are looking for the Masters in engineering courses, I would like to suggest you to write the entrances like GATE and other state level exams for the course and admissions because there are no direct admissions in most of the good institutes.
To know about the institutes in the country which are offering M.Tech, you may refer to the following link and based on which may further refine the search as per the desired location:
