Age Limit: Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years but must have not crossed the age of 35 years for State Services & 25 years to 45 years for Subordinate Services.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must hold a Bachelors degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.

There are five sections in the NEST exam. The General Section i.e. the first section is compulsory for all. From the rest of the four sections (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) you can answer any three of them. If you wish then you can also answer all of the four sections.
