But, as you have mentioned about fashion designing, I would say that it is the most lucrative and interesting field and it encompasses a vast field of study in design, concept management, design production management and so on.
To be eligible, minimum eligibility for the Undergraduate course is 10+2 with 50% marks and Post Graduate course is graduation.
In the prominent institutes like NIFT, NID, IIFT, Pearl Academy of fashion, J.D Institute, etc admission is strictly on merit- through written test, situation test, group discussion and interview.

Hi Girish, after diploma you may opt for B.E./B.Tech course in lateral entry scheme. This scheme enable students to take admission directly in the second year of degree course.
Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates with a diploma in engineering can apply for the course. The diploma holders should have scored a minimum aggregate pass mark as per the university rules.
But, not to forget, lateral entry rules differ from one university to another so I would suggest you to please directly contact the university officials.
