There is a good scope for this new career option.People who want to design rockets and cars become mechanical engineers. People who want to design great buildings and bridges become civl engineers. However, these things all overlap. Companies who design nuclear power plants hire nuke engineers and material scientists to design core materials, mechanical engineers to design the fluid and power systems, chemical engineers for purification systems, civils for structures, electrical engineers for power systems and instrumentation, and so on. At your age I think you have time to decide and you can always change your mind.

Hello Anmol,
If you dont want to waste your year then I would advice you join a college and prepare for JEE, AIEEE or other exams simultaneously since it will lower your stress to perform on that D day and if by some chance you are not able to clear JEE ,AIEEE or others then you have backup which is continue your course.
Try in some other universities that considers grades & PCM marks of 12th. In case you dont suceed in JEE next year then you can prepare for CAT, MAT while doing their B.Tech. Plus point of this is even if you do not get job through university placement then u can go ahead & do your MBA. And your CAT and MAT preparation w
