Talking about the scope, this course is quite in demand nowadays and has a bright future. Mechanical engg is well established in India whereas automation engg is not that much available nor in demand. It is still picking up in India. However there are universities offering automation also. Finally it depends on your interest which one you consider fine to go for. In my opinion mech will be better option as it will give you more opportunities than automation.

According to your percentage you are not good in pcm so according to me u should think of other programmes because engg is a high end programme and your basic must be clear to study further . If you were committed towards engg than go for it .
