Hello Gagan,
Diploma courses in India are basically skill imparting courses and the have very less academic importance. Some states have given them equivalence of 12th. So when you dream of going to Canada, you should be seeking admission in an undergraduate course. There are almost limitless combinations that you can choose from.
Best wishes!

Firstly, you should really have an interest or passion in engineering. Don't take engineering because everyone is going there. If you really have an interest and want to do it, welcome. So to be eligible for engineering admissions, you have to do 12th with PCM or PCMB, i.e. maths is compulsory that's the basic eligibility criteria for engineering admissions. Then you have to give engineering entrance exams. JEE is the national exam held by CBSE every year for engineering admissions. Also, if your state where you reside has its own entrance exam, you have to give it too. I hope this helps. Kindly comment in case of further queries. Good

Switching colleges in the first year is quite tough as most colleges do not accept lateral entries in the first year itself. However, if you keep up a good academic record, you may be able to switch colleges in the 2nd year. However, you should check with the admission authorities if lateral entries are permitted by your institute in the 1st year. There is slight chance of getting a transfer if there is a tie-up with your college and the target institute, but there is a low probability of transfers in the first year itself.
