To decide that whether MBA is good without appearing for CAT exam or not, first you will have to list down the colleges you want to get admission into.
CAT is not an easy nut. And once you are done finalizing with the college of your choice, you will have to find out what examination percentile they ask for or prefer.
According to that, you will have to decide whether you will have to give CAT or not.
As far as my opinion is concerned, I would suggest you to appear for CAT, since it is accepted in almost every college for admission.
