As a B.Com. graduate it is natural to follow banking or insurance career. For that, first thing is to get a first class degree from a good college. Your basics of accountancy, book keeping and taxation has to be good. If after this, time permits, then learn MS Excel sheet, MIS and finacial ERPs like Tally-9. Make a habit of reading finance & business section of an English news paper. Better would be to subscribe "Economics Times" and read it daily.
If you want to go for Insurance sector, MBA is must. If you go for Bank PO job then you need at least 6-8 months of preparation after graduation has been completed.
