I guess both the university are great and well known. But as I am a student of LPU I know much better about it that LPU is best for this course. They have everything we students could ask for. The school of mechanical engineering has well-qualified labs and experienced faculty members, mostly all of them from IIITs, NITs, IIITs, and that too they usually PHDs. According to me, there are no drawbacks of dropping 1 year for preparations of JEE Mains & Advance. Here is an article by JEE expert Ramesh Batlish who is Centre Head, Noida FIITJEE explaining important points to remember during studying for exams and advantages of dropping a year for preparing for JEE Mains.
