Hello Prasad, Good Evening. In order to do your Phd in Bio-chem you should qualify the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Examination or UGC- National Eligibility Test or State Eligibility TEst. . When once you are qualified, you are eligible to receive Fellowships /Scholarships or Sponsorship depending upon the institution you choose to do your PHD, the mode(Regular full time regular part-time or through distance/ correspondence). All IITs, NITs, Universities have department of Bio-tech. So it depends totally on your ability and capability. The next round of NET exam will be in December and my suggestion is to begin your preparation for that from now itself.
You may also go for PHD through the university of your choice by clearning the entrance exam conducted for the same. Some conditions remain the same while some vary from university to university.

Its nothing like we get a distance learning degree. a university has a authority to authorize a institution for taking up the course recognized by them and they issue the degree for it. if tht was not the case, how do so many colleges are recognized by 1 university. as far as IIPM is concerned, I believe that management education is less about books and more about how well you are groomed to understand every essence of this BUSINESS ARENA. and so called any college on joining will focus on the same. none of the colleges can guarantee you the placements if you are not smart enough to grab the escence of the subject and become smart enough to show it in front of the recruiters.

Firstly you haven't mentioned that have you given any entrance exam for MCA ?
Say for example if you have given the Maharashtra MCA CET then you can think of colleges in Maharashtra .anyways ?
See college plays a role but what plays a big role is your skills.it is your skills that is going to give you a job not the college.Ya definitely there are good colleges where placement comes but that doesn't means that the company is going to recruit all the students of that college.only 7 or 10 or 20 students will be picked.But if you have skills you can go out and get a job.So as far as the college is concerned join the one which is good at the same time also convenient for you i.e. not thinking of all those HOSTELS .
