Although 1738 is a good rank but with time the criteria has also changed regarding the admissions in IP university.If the candidate wants to get admission in IP university he has to appear for CAT exams. According to the new rule students those who have appeared for CAT exams and have good percentile are eligible for admission in IP university. There are some colleges if IP university which are accepting CET scores also.
So my advice is to give both CAT and CET to get admission in IP colleges. Students those have appeared for CAT will be given the first preferences and if the seats are available then to those students who have appeared for CET exam.
