The courses that you have mentioned are both related to IT (Information Technology). They dont have much difference but a minor distinction is in background. Both the sides will need a little knowledge of maths. However, you may opt according to your choice.

Yes, you need to take an entrance exam for the same. Not only DU, but some other universities too conduct the entrance exams for this course. There is no direct admission choice. And also the entrance exams are conducted for the candidates who score 55%-60% in class 12th.
