As per your rank which is 83167, it is really difficult to get your number in 2nd counselling. You can also check last year cutoffs and you check where students with the same rank as your stand last year. even though you can wait after checking the cutoffs, if there is any chance for getting a seat by comparing last year cutoff, you can wait otherwise switch to some other college in mech branch. You also may be allotted seats according to your category so check last year result and then wait accordingly.

After the degree in Mechanical Engineering, learning into USE and get into jobs, this is what I would suggest in first place. If you are willing to pursue Higher Education and not job, then I would suggest doing M.Tech if you want to be a teacher of the subject.
