For a Top Business School, obviously 99+ percentile would be required, considering you to be a general, male individual. Since CAT carries the highest weightage in most of the college admissions, the damage from poor academics can be recovered with a big CAT score. So, prepare hard for it and give your best. Good luck.

BBA is a course which you can study in any normal college. But, MBA in IIM is taken through CAT entrance exam which is really tough and checks candidate ability and skills. It doesn't matter from which stream you are coming as engineering students also do well in it. So, I don't think there is any plus point if you are doing BBA before MBA for IIM and also BBA is not compulsory as you need to pass graduation. So BBA may worth it but you need to have to do preparation for it as many students compete for it.
