congrats for choosing armed forces as career option.nitesh there is no such direct entry into the army in which u enter as MAJOR. the first rank that a person gets when inducted as an officer is lieutenant(LT.) than he is promoted to Captain and than to Major. but for an engineering and medical graduates are directly made Captain (after 20 days of induction) and than u will get promoted to Major in some years.so if u want to join army in technical wing as a captain you will have to go through TGC entry (Technical Graduate Course ). engineers with degrees in electrical/ mechanical/ civil/ electronics and computers can apply. the shortl
