Yes, SC/ST candidates get concessions in registration fees, and age relaxation is provided for OBC and SC/ST categories students. Reservations include 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer), and 10% for General-EWS. IMU also has a special state reservation scheme
For NCC cadet students, they can get mark concessions: 5% for the 'C' certificate, 3% for the 'B' certificate, and 2% for the 'A' certificate

As per IMUCET eligibility criteria, the age limit for students applying for B.Tech, B.Sc, B.B.A and DNS courses is below -
Minimum age: 17 years
Maximum age:
For Male: General - 25 years, OBC (NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years
For Female: General - 27 years, OBC (NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
No age limit for students from M.tech, M.B.A. and M.Sc program
For PG graduate Diploma course in Marine Engineering -
Maximum age : Male : For General-28 years OBC (NCL)-31 years SC/ST-33 years.
Female : For General-30 years OBC (NCL)-33 years SC/ST-35 years

CG PET seat allotment will be announced online. After allotment, selected students will have to report to their respective institute to confirm their admission. At institute, they will have to pay fee and verify their documents. Students will have to confirm their admission before final date, otherwise their allotment will be cancelled.

UG Courses - Candidates must be at least 17 years old and have completed 10+2/equivalent with a minimum 60% average in PCM and at least 50% marks in English in Class 10 or 12.
PG Courses - Candidates with a B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Naval disciplines are eligible to apply for PG programs.

In case two or more candidates secure same CG PET score, then tie breaking guidelines are followed by authorities. Based on their performance in the 12th class examination, students will be ranked to break tie.

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.

To apply for UG (BTech, BSc, BBA and DNS) and PG (MTech, Msc, MBA) programs at IMU campuses or affiliated institutes, as well as DGS-approved pre-sea courses at Maritime Training Institutes, candidates must register. Candidates who qualify for IMU CET will receive a Rank Certificate. Admission to IMU campuses is based on CET ranks.
