Yes, SC/ST candidates get concessions in registration fees, and age relaxation is provided for OBC and SC/ST categories students. Reservations include 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer), and 10% for General-EWS. IMU also has a special state reservation scheme 

For NCC cadet students, they can get mark concessions: 5% for the 'C' certificate, 3% for the 'B' certificate, and 2% for the 'A' certificate

The BTech course offered through IMU CET generally costs between ₹9 Lacs to ₹11 Lacs for the full four-year program, depending on the campus and specialization. The first-year fee is usually around ₹2.5 – ₹3 lakh, which includes tuition, lab, and academic charges. Additional expenses such as hostel, mess, and examination fees are charged separately. CG PET seat allotment will be announced online. After allotment, selected students will have to report to their respective institute to confirm their admission. At institute, they will have to pay fee and verify their documents. Students will have to confirm their admission before final date, otherwise their allotment will be cancelled.

CG PET 2026 seat allotment dates will be announced soon. Students can log in using required details to check their allotment status. Students will be allotted as per their rank and preferences. All rounds' seat allotment result will also be announced.

1. UG Courses - Candidates must be at least 17 years old and have completed 10+2/equivalent with a minimum 60% average in PCM and at least 50% marks in English in Class 10 or 12.

2. PG Courses - Candidates with a B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Naval disciplines are eligible to apply for PG programs.

In case two or more candidates secure same CG PET score, then tie breaking guidelines are followed by authorities. Based on their performance in the 12^th class examination, students will be ranked to break tie.

To check the CG PET result, the students will have to log in using their registered mobile number and password. No other login credentials will be required to check the CG PET result. Once logged in, the students will be able to check their scores and ranks.

For every objection against the model CG PET answer key, the students will have to pay INR 50. Every submitted objection needs to have a supporting document. If the proof is not submitted, then the students' objection will not be accepted.

Yes, the authorities release the final CG PET answer key online. To prepare the final answer key, the authorities check all of the objections submitted against the model key. Once the objections are reviewed, the final answer key is released, which also helps in the process of preparing the CG PET result.

While filling CG PET application form, students will be able to select their choice of exam cities in order of preference. From the selected order of preference, CG PET exam centres will be allotted to students.

No, the students cannot request to change their allotted CG PET exam centre. Since the centres are allotted as per the preferences submitted by the student, they will not be allowed to raise objections against the allotted ones. Students should be careful while submitting their choice of centres.

CG PET 2026 admit card has not been released yet. Students will be able to access the CG PET admit card download link online at the official website. After logging in, the students will have to download and print out the hall ticket.

Yes, the students should be aware of the exam pattern and syllabus for CG PET preparation. By being familiar with the pattern and syllabus, the students will be able to plan out their study strategy to score well in the exam. The syllabus will also help the students cover all of the topics that will be used to prepare the question paper.

To be well prepared for the exam, it is important for the students to have good preparation materials. Students are advised to refer to NCERT books and more to prepare the syllabus. Mock tests, sample papers and previous years' question papers should be used to know the important topics and prepare accordingly.

To identify the important topics in CG PET syllabus, the students should solve previous year's question papers and sample papers. Once the students assess the questions and concepts repeatedly used in the exam, they will be able to identify the important topics.

To be eligible for IMU CET (2026) for 4-year B.Tech programmes, candidates must be at least 17 years old and fulfil academic criteria: 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), scoring a minimum of 60% average in PCM, and at least 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.  Age limits vary by category: e.g. for males in General – up to 25, OBC up to 28, SC/ST up to 30; for females – slightly higher upper limits.  Medical fitness and eyesight norms per DG Shipping are required. 

For both UG and PG courses, the exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.

To apply for UG (BTech, BSc, BBA and DNS) and PG (MTech, Msc, MBA) programs at IMU campuses or affiliated institutes, as well as DGS-approved pre-sea courses at Maritime Training Institutes, candidates must register. Candidates who qualify for IMU CET will receive a Rank Certificate. Admission to IMU campuses is based on CET ranks.
