Yes, SC/ST candidates get concessions in registration fees, and age relaxation is provided for OBC and SC/ST categories students. Reservations include 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer), and 10% for General-EWS. IMU also has a special state reservation scheme 

For NCC cadet students, they can get mark concessions: 5% for the 'C' certificate, 3% for the 'B' certificate, and 2% for the 'A' certificate

As per IMUCET eligibility criteria, the age limit for students applying for B.Tech, B.Sc, B.B.A and DNS courses is below - 

• Minimum age: 17 years

• Maximum age: 

• For Male: General - 25 years, OBC (NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years

• For Female: General - 27 years, OBC (NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

No age limit for students from M.tech, M.B.A. and M.Sc program

For PG graduate Diploma course in Marine Engineering -

Maximum age : Male : For General-28 years OBC (NCL)-31 years SC/ST-33 years.

Female : For General-30 years OBC (NCL)-33 years SC/ST-35 years

CG PET seat allotment will be announced online. After allotment, selected students will have to report to their respective institute to confirm their admission. At institute, they will have to pay fee and verify their documents. Students will have to confirm their admission before final date, otherwise their allotment will be cancelled.

The round-wise CG PET seat allotment dates will be available with counselling schedule. The counselling schedule will be announced on the official website after result of the exam is announced.

1. UG Courses - Candidates must be at least 17 years old and have completed 10+2/equivalent with a minimum 60% average in PCM and at least 50% marks in English in Class 10 or 12.

2. PG Courses - Candidates with a B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Naval disciplines are eligible to apply for PG programs.

In case two or more candidates secure same CG PET score, then tie breaking guidelines are followed by authorities. Based on their performance in the 12^th class examination, students will be ranked to break tie.

To check the CG PET result, candidates have to use their registered mobile number and password.

Yes, there is an objection fee of INR 50 per challenge raised in the CG PET answer keys.

Yes, CG Vyapam will release the CG PET final keys on the official website after checking the challenges received by the students on the provisional keys.

While filling CG PET application form, students will be able to select their choice of exam cities in order of preference. From the selected order of preference, CG PET exam centres will be allotted to students.

No, the students cannot request to change their allotted CG PET exam centre. Since the centres are allotted as per the preferences submitted by the student, they will not be allowed to raise objections against the allotted ones. Students should be careful while submitting their choice of centres.

CG PET 2026 admit card will be out on May 4.

During CG PET preparation, students should check official exam pattern and syllabus. This will help them prepare a study plan so that they can cover all topics before exam. Through exam pattern, students can check how CG PET will be held by authorities.

For CG PET, students should have good preparation materials. They have to refer NCERT books and other important books to prepare topics in syllabus. Students should also use mock tests and sample papers to practice for exam.

To identify important topics in CG PET syllabus, students have to solve previous year's papers and sample papers. Once students check questions and concepts repeatedly used in exam, they will be able to identify important topics.

To be eligible for IMU CET (2026) for 4-year B.Tech programmes, candidates must be at least 17 years old and fulfil academic criteria: 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), scoring a minimum of 60% average in PCM, and at least 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.  Age limits vary by category: e.g. for males in General – up to 25, OBC up to 28, SC/ST up to 30; for females – slightly higher upper limits.  Medical fitness and eyesight norms per DG Shipping are required. 

For both UG and PG courses, the exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.

To apply for UG (BTech, BSc, BBA and DNS) and PG (MTech, Msc, MBA) programs at IMU campuses or affiliated institutes, as well as DGS-approved pre-sea courses at Maritime Training Institutes, candidates must register. Candidates who qualify for IMU CET will receive a Rank Certificate. Admission to IMU campuses is based on CET ranks.
