Yes, mock tests are important for CG PET preparation. Using the mock test, the students will be able to understand how the exam will be held and the type of questions they can expect. Mock tests also help them to assess the important topics and their commonly made mistakes. By solving the mock tests within the official duration, the students will be able to boost their time management skills.

The timetable for CG PET preparation has to be prepared as per the student's aptitude. The CG PET syllabus has to be carefully divided so that everything is covered before the examination. The daily routine of the student should include revision and mock tests.

For UG Courses, the IMU CET exam pattern is as follows - 

• Subject - English, General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (12th Grade / Plus 2 level/Intermediate/Equivalent level).

• Medium of Exam - English

• Total Questions – 200

• Total Duration of exam – 3 hours

• Negative marking - 0.25 marks for every wrong answer

In CG PET syllabus, the students will have to study topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. To prepare for the exam, the students should be aware of the syllabus so that they know what topics have to be studied. CG PET syllabus is released at the official website.

CG PET exam will have objective questions. Each question will have more than one choices. Students have to select one option and mark it in answer sheet.

In CG PET, marks are not cut for incorrect answers. If students have marked an incorrect answer, the authorities will not mark it negatively. Since there is no negative marking, students should attempt as many questions as they can to have higher chances of scoring well.

1. Age criteria – For Btech, BSc, BBA and DNS

• Minimum age: 17years

• For Male: General-25 years, OBC (NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years

• For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

2. No age criteria for Mtech, MBA and M.Sc program

3. For the PG graduate Diploma course in Marine Engineering - Maximum age: Male : For General-28 years OBC (NCL)-31 years SC/ST-33 years. Female : For General-30 years OBC (NCL)-33 years SC/ST-35 years

The total duration of the CG PET exam is 3 hours. During the three hour exam, the students have to attempt 150 multiple-choice questions. No extra time will be given to the students to complete the exam. Therefore, they are advised to practice their time management skills.

1. For UG course - Anyone who is minimum 17 years of age and have obtained 10+2/equivalent PCM Average - Minimum 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination).

2. For PG course – Anyone who have BSc / BTech degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval can apply for various programme offered under PG courses.

Students have to upload their scanned photograph and signature in CG PET application form. Documents have to be scanned and uploaded correctly in application form. If documents are not uploaded correctly, form cannot be submitted.

CG PET application fee has to be paid online to be registered for the exam. General category students will have to pay INR 200, while for the OBC category students, the application fee is INR 150. Students belonging to the SC/ST category will have to pay INR 100.

The courses offered under UG are Btech, Mtech, BBA and DNS. MTech, MSc and MBA courses are offered under PG programme.

CG PET application form is released online at the official website. No offline applications will be available for the students. All of the registration and form filling process has to be done online. The authorities will not accept any offline applications.

While reporting at CG PET exam centre, students will have to bring a print out of their hall ticket and a valid and original photo identity proof. If these documents are not shown for verification at the centre, then students will not be allowed to enter the venue to attempt exam.
