Thapar University is a well-known university and is one of a kind in the region. Getting an MBA degree from Thapar is very much appreciated while seeking job opportunities. Until 2015, it was possible to take direct admission in most of the private engineering colleges in India without appearing for any entrance examination. However, 2016 onwards, Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) has made it mandatory to have a valid score in the respective entrance examination for every student, regardless of whether you take admission via counselling or direct admission.
If a student doesn't have a valid score in the respective entrance examination, the corresponding university will not accept the registration of the student, thereby cancelling his/her admission. So, beware of those fraud agents/ educational consultancies who may promise you admission regardless of entrance examination.
