Yes, it is possible to pursue M.Tech without GATE. But, as a friend I would suggest you to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.

The procedure of admission would depend on the eligibility criteria/admission process of various colleges.General procedure includes:
-Filling the application form of shortlisted institutes
-Submit required documents (marksheets,school leaving certificate or any other required by the institute)
-Submit 2 photographs
It is advisable that you first shortlist institutes,check the eligibility criteria,gather the required documents, fill the form,sit for entrance exams,if need be and choose a college.
